[Terezi may or may not have been sleeping, but she certainly isn't after hearing that message from Qri. She pads outside, stops outside Karkat's tiny house, considers the wisdom of waking Karkat up, considers the likelihood that Karkat was actually sleeping even before that message.
She winds up rapping furiously on the door.]
Open up! This is the fashion police!
[ . . . she's literally wearing a white nightgown that someone has scribbled dragons on with marker. Just. By the way.]
[ he opens the door, his face a mixture of annoyance (which is his usual expression, in all honesty) and a lack of grogginess that implies that he was, in fact, awake when qri sent out her message. ]
Oh shit, where are they? I only see you. Did you scare them off with your-- [ he glances at her pjs ] are those supposed to be dragons?
Fearsome dragons! [She flaps her arms like wings. Her grin could properly be described as 'shit-eating.'] Yes, do not worry. I will protect you from the depredations of the fashion police.
[And with that, she perches herself on the steps to his house, settling in comfortably before turning her gaze up towards him.]
We have pretty good timing then, considering everyone else was going on about how only what's-her-face did all of the talking before. Maybe she realized it was us and went, "Oh fuck, these trolls mean serious business and are going to shove a rock up my defecation tunnel if I don't make a move.
[ probably not! but he's not complaining, karkat isn't exactly the most patient person in the world. ]
It could be an act. It'll be easier to get us to do what she wants if we feel sorry for her, right? The whole, "oh, woe is me, I have accidentally stepped on this meowbeast's paw and am a terrible person!" charade. Then we all nod our heads and agree someone this pathetic and sorry can't be even, and the next thing we know, she's stepping on us instead.
Well, of course it could be an act. [She says this as though it is obvious.] I am not discounting that possibility. But regardless, her choice of acts still tells us something about her.
[She strokes her chin thoughtfully.]
She left enough vague that I do not think pretending to be an innocent will be that effective. But then, I am not a human.
It's probably hard to say since we still don't know much about the people who come from different worlds and the kind of bullshit they are used to. Depending on that, if she is just trying to trick us, they might fall for it easier than others.
[ although, luckily, a few of the people he spoke to seem to be as suspicious as they are about all of this, which is better than nothing. ]
It varies? Some of them are raging nooksuckers who seem to thoroughly enjoy arguing with me.
[ says karkat, the hypocrite. ]
But they do seem to know information of what's going on and are skeptical of the people in charge to the point where they'll probably be useful to some degree.
And also that they are at least somewhat critical about the situation. What have you learned so far? I talked to Dirk, but he seemed to be under the impression that no one knew much of anything about Qri.
The wagon apparently sticks to those who touch it as a defense mechanism. No one has tried attacking it from a distance, however. Oddly enough.
[At this, she leans over and pokes him, still smiling.]
Which--at this point I have been told that I should advise you not to try! Not without finding out a great deal more about how Qri's powers work, at least.
Genette has been with Qri for about a year, and she heals people. Brie has been around for an unspecified amount of time longer, and I do not know what her power is. We could definitely use more information on both.
Especially considering the fact that they are obviously the ones who actually wrote the letter. I mean... hello, do you have any idea how easy it is to grab a word stick and write something out, even if all of it is blatantly false information? Pretty. Fucking. Easy.
[ but if no one else has managed to get juicier details by now, they're all either incompetent or these people are very good at hiding info. ]
My point is, if they're the ones who are giving us this information, then how can we exactly trust the information since we don't trust them. Keep up with me, Terezi, I'm discussing conspiracy here.
Day 132, just after midnight
She winds up rapping furiously on the door.]

So. We have finally heard from Qri herself.

What did you think? I admit I was not expecting her to be so . . . apologetic.

Who have you talked to so far? Other than the Dirk, Jake, and Jade humans, of course.

[ he knows he's missing a few names, but whatever. he'll probably run into them again later. ]

What were your impressions of them?

[ which karkat is still not quite sure if he believes, but he has witnessed enough stupidity to also be able to accept that. ]

[ yes.
that's not the point. ]

[No water falls, so it must be true.]
If it were not for the risk that it might succeed, I would think about talking someone else into doing it.
no subject
What about her attendants? Do we have any more actually useful info on them other than they run around, doing the hag's bidding?
no subject
Did you read the letter?

I will ask more pointed questions about the two of them in the future.
