Yes, and yes. I mean my phone wifi wasn't even on, then bam! It's on my laptop. And Vitya — anyway, this guy I know was using a disconnected phone that wasn't hooked up to anything. I don't know if it even had battery power, but as soon as he was holding it? He was texting on Retrospec.
Before now? No. I guess things could be on the cloud, but that doesn't explain powering dead batteries or connecting to networks when it shouldn't be possible. Sci-fi is fine in movies, but I swear, if we wake up covered in goo in tiny pods surrounded by hundreds of thousands of the same thing
Well something is definitely going on here. It could be a government conspiracy but immediately leaping to that conclusion is really cliche? So let's strike off government conspiracy from the list.
Too effective and fast moving for government anyway. Private corporation? Mad tech scientists? It's a "social" app, that reads like experimentation from the start. Really weird social experimentation, but who knows?
The notifications make it hard to ignore, but look, we're not using it now. Not wrong though. There's a lot of chatter going on there, and none of it's locked afaik.
I'll ask if anyone's heard anything from the tech-smart kind. So far it seems like no, no privacy, no explanations, no anything other than "it exists."
( the upside to having two friends: both those friends are social LAUGHS SO UH... Yuri wins................... only because his friends are Social People )
Doesn't seem like there are privacy settings, but there are filters? You can filter to a group and stuff like that. Don't know why you want to or not. I can tell you how to flip off notifications or set up pings for certain people posting or w/e. Also, profile images still won't let you change them out. No one seems to know why.
At least both mine are still under warranty for the next year and since no one can find evidence of the app on either then it's going to look like a manufacturer's error.
I just wait until I absolutely have to replace it. My phone's like cracked in three places so I think at this point if it explodes it's probably helping me out.

I don't fucking know.
But it can't be just a normal app.

So this is just downloading itself onto whatever you use.

I mean shit, you'd think this kind of thing would be in a sci-fi or spy movie, not real life.

I mean, we think it's suspicious as fuck and yet we're still using it.

Have you tried?

I got nothing.
And I don't know who the fuck would know about this stuff.

My problem solving with technology usually means throwing it against the nearest somewhat forgiving surface. And by technology, I mean my phone.
